Pupil Premium Statement 2013-14
Pupil Premium Funding is provided by the Government in addition to the main school funding, to address the current underlying equalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their more affluent peers. It is for schools to decide how their Pupil Premium allocation is spent as they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils.
We currently have a small proportion of children at school who are entitled to free school meals; 6 children in this budget year. We also have children of parents in the Armed Forces for whom we receive a small support payment. This generates an income from Pupil Premium of £5,228.
This money is being spent in the following ways:
- Ensure smaller teaching groups
- Learning Support Assistant provision
- Fund resources such as phonic materials
- Subsidise/pay for activities including residential trips and cost associated with swimming

Emergency Closure Procedures:
We do endeavour to keep the school open but in the case of severe weather, where it would be too dangerous for staff to be travelling in, we may need to close the school. If the school is to be closed you will be notified by text (about 7 am) and the information will be given out via the local radio and on the Somerset Learning Platform via Somerset County Council website. Please ensure we have an up to date mobile number. We will not be able to phone parents via land lines.
